This is the worst school I have ever dealt with. My son was an honor roll student before he started here. He began failing school, and was kicked out of the holiday band concert, which the school charges $10/person to attend. I was not even made aware that he was removed from the concert until the day of the concert. When I tried to contact the band director for an explanation, not even the principal could get the man to contact me. That was in December, it is now end of February, and I have called several times. Still no response. The school had at least 4 fundraisers before the holiday break. They hold "dances" during class, which the kids must pay $5 to attend, or stay in class. This "school" is a money making enterprise, and they care not about the kids or the parents. In my neighborhood, there is not one parent who has anything good to say about this school. Luckily, I am in a position to remove my son and homeschool him, which I did.

Although Broussard is a very difficult school when you look at (and yes I suppose it looks like a money making scheme) but on the student's perspective (especially mine) it has improved greatly. When I was in 5th grade I couldn't bare going to school and I even went to another school in the middle of 5th grade but when when I returned to the school in 7th grade I was shocked to see how it improved so much. I'm now in 8th grade and i'm proud to be at BMS. I feel oddly welcomed to this school.
