School Reviews
2 10/10/2025
Loyd Star is yet another southern school putting athletics before academics. Teachers refuse to teach things they don't agree with, such as the theory of evolution. Teachers and students will alienate any student with different beliefs. Prayer is held before pep rallies.
I didn't learn any algebra until 11th grade, the reason being that the pre-algebra and algebra teachers would not teach. Junior high grade sciences are dumbed down for the religious majority.
4 10/10/2025
This is simply to rebut the only other review. If this prior student didn't take algebra until the 11th grade, they did so at their own choice. Algebra I was offered from the 9th grade onward even when I was a student in the late 80s. While the school, along with a vast majority of Mississippi public schools indeed does have serious issues that need to be addressed, it offered an adequate education with enough student preparation to be successful in junior college if the young man or woman chose to continue their studies.
