From an academic standpoint, I really can't say a lot, but recommend comparing test scores from this school with those in surrounding districts (other than Lansing). We didn't have a great experience at this school for various reasons and ran really quickly at the end of the school year (school of choice IS a good thing). Student pickup is a nightmare (no transportation provided) and then there just aren't enough staff supervising which parent is taking which kid. The principal, Joe Thienes, doesn't really seem to have many problem solving and leadership skills as many problems have just continued unresolved. The school *IS* located in the city of Lansing. Keep that in mind when considering applying.

This school like many others has it''s strong points and its weak points, My children have been with this school since 2009. Mrs. Thomas has turned it around from The days of Joe Thienes, who wasn''t the best Principal. again it has its ups and downs but I wouldn''t send my kids back to public schools if you paid me.
